The memorial is sited at the foot of the village, near to a bridge and within site of the Crown of Crucis public house., Ampney Crucis, Gloucestershire, UK.

THIS CROSS WAS ERECTED BY THE INHABITANTS OF AMPNEY CRUCIS IN THE MEMORY OF THE MEN WHO FELL IN THE GREAT WAR 1914-1918 WHOSE NAMES ARE INSCRIBED HEREON AND IN THANKFULNES FOR THE SAFE RETURN OF MANY OTHERS WHO WENT FROM THIS VILLAGE.
